Gary Roberts started his career in 1983 on the BhS graduate training scheme and rapidly rose up the ranks to become the youngest high street store manager in BhS history in 1987. Gary joined Laura Ashley in 1988 and undertook several retail and supply chain HQ store management roles before becoming Head of Worldwide Store and Inventory Systems. |

Gary developed his interest in IT by joining ICL Retail Systems (Fujitsu) in 1998, where he led the organisation’s UK Store Systems Sales Team before joining Microsoft in 2000. At Microsoft he was an account manager in the retail team managing blue-chip clients such as Marks & Spencer and J Sainsbury.
In 2007 Gary was appointed Sales Director of MIcrosoft’s Manufacturing and Professional Services Sector. Here he was responsible for 180 Enterprise clients and a 50-strong team focused on driving customer satisfaction, solution sales, partner engagement and revenue.
A highly experienced and admired retail IT executive, having developed his remit in the Microsoft retail team from account manager in 2000 to director, retail, manufacturing & services (RMS), Gary brings invaluable experience in IT strategy for customer growth and development to Pitney Bowes MapInfo. |
